Our base “all-inclusive” package provides music services for ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. It includes a professional sound system, two wireless microphones, MCing, equipment set-up and tear down, and two planning consultations. We charge a $1/mile travel fee for any wedding outside of Denver city limits.
What sets Rocky Mountain Weddings apart from other Denver DJs is our team of professional musicians. Each DJ truly has dedicated their life to music and has an expensive knowledge behind the technology and gear we bring along. DJ Eric for example has performed at Red Rocks multiple times, DJ Carbon has performed at venues such as Dillon Amphitheater, Belly Up Aspen, Mission Ballroom, and DJ Ryan has performed in the Cervantes Ballroom. Our deep understanding of music and how it works with modern gear is key to helping us remain a notch above the rest.
Yes, Rocky Mountain Weddings includes ceremony audio services with all of our packages. We provide 30 minutes of guest arrival music before ceremony, as well as songs for processional, recessional, or any special mid-ceremony moments. This includes a professional PA speaker, two wireless microphones for vows (one auxiliary handheld mic and one lapel mic to be fastened to the officiant). We also have a battery pack available for any outdoor “off the grid” ceremonies that do not have access to power.
Yes! Our package covers a full-day of wedding needs, including ceremony (and even pre-ceremony music) through to reception. If the ceremony is at a different location there can sometimes be a small additional travel charge, but otherwise ceremony is fully included! Covering both events ourselves creates seamless day-of transition between locations.
Yes! Every DJ shows up with a third professional speaker as a backup in case anything were to happen to the main speakers. We also always come with two wireless microphones, as well as wired microphones for an absolute last resort backup. All of our DJs are very well-versed in the technology required to run sound for a wedding and bring extra cables to every event. We also take pride in using only high-end and reputable brands, providing pristine sound for both speakers and microphones. Being a company of three DJs also allows us to have back up DJs for extreme situations like accidents or extreme illness. With over 100 weddings complete, we have zero incidents of a malfunction that has disrupted an event making us a reliable choice for a Colorado wedding DJ.
Here at Rocky Mountain Wedding we check our egos at the door. This is your big day and we are here to bring your vision to life. We sit down with every couple to discuss their customized playlist and see what they are comfortable with as far as receiving and playing request from guests. Often times our clients will allow us to take request and then play them only if we find them to be fitting to the overall “vibe”. Other times we work on a no request policy, or can play every single request if instructed to.
Rocky Mountain Weddings was established in 2023 in Denver, Colorado. Our small roster of three DJs have a combined 35 years of experience being the life of parties and performing music live. We have serviced over 100 weddings and countless other events and concerts!
Our preferred and recommended booking timeline is anywhere between 6 to 18 months before the wedding. The peak of the Colorado wedding season is May - October, so for dates within those months we advise securing your date earlier than off-season weddings. We do take weddings up until the minute as well, so feel free to reach out on short notice or if you had a booked DJ cancelled!
Yes! Included in our base package is two complimentary consultation phone calls to discuss music taste, MCing needs, your timeline, and necessary gear. We will go over song selection, your personalized playlist, your "must play” and your “do not play” list. We also have a very thought out online form which allows you to enter all of your preferred music for pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception.
Yes! We have a “do not play” section on our form that we will always honor for your event. We love to give a tailored wedding music experience and will follow all guidance and instruction provided by you!
Rocky Mountain Wedding is a small collection of musicians with eclectic taste. Our “open-format” DJs specialize in diverse genres like top 40 hits, hip-hop, R&B, EDM, 70s-80s, retro dance, old-school, funk, soul, disco, Motown, Latin and the worldly music. Our DJs are all real musicians with plenty of artistic skills to be able to bring whatever vision of music you have to life! We share a very extensive music library of the classics as well as modern remixes to keep the dance floor fresh.
Yes. All DJs have taken a one on one crash course with DJ Carbon to excel in professional wedding MCing services. Each DJ also has ample experience being in-front of big crowds and controlling the energy and direction of a room full of people. We use only the best wireless microphone systems (Shure) and have no problem amplifying any incoming announcements from the couple or the timeline coordinator. We also ALWAYS get the rooms attention and introduce a speaker before it is their time to talk.
Rocky Mountain Weddings is a collection of professional musicians. All of us are extremely dedicated to providing professional, high-quality performances at weddings as well as on stages around the state. We own nothing but high-level, professional-grade PA speakers/premium sound systems, professional wireless mic systems, high-powered battery packs, Apple MacBook Pro computers, and professional-venue-level dance floor lighting. We use brands like RCF, Yamaha, JBL, EV, QSC, Shure, and Chauvet. We aim to be great at what we do, on all levels.
Yes we do! We have LED uplighting packages available as an add-on for any event. Our uplights have 127 different colors and can be mixed and matched to your liking (we recommend a two colors combination!). Our high-level, customizable, battery powered and wire-free up lights can absolutely transform a venue with beautiful ambient lighting.
Our ceremony specific set-up is completely weather-resistant and can be run anywhere in the state! It can be completely battery powered making for easy outdoor/adventurous ceremonies. Our main reception set-up is semi-weather resistant, but laptops and DJ controllers are not rain proof, so proper coverage with a pop-up tent shade is necessary for outdoor weather if rain is expected.
Yes, all of our DJs provide two wireless microphones for use at every wedding. One wireless lapel/clip-on mic to be fastened to the officiant during ceremony and one wireless-handheld mic used as an auxiliary mic throughout the night. The handheld mic is available at ceremony for vows and prayers and will also be set-up at dinner/reception for toasts, welcome speeches, and announcements.
Here are a list of some of our notable favorites! Denver Botanical Gardens, Coffee On The Rocks, The Crawford Hotel at Union Station, Blanc Denver, Grant Humphreys Mansion, Denver Athletic Club, The Limelight Hotel, Mile High Station, The Stanley Hotel, Black Canyon Inn, 10 Mile Station, Vail Wedding Deck, Spruce Mountain, The Manor House, Moss Denver, Boulder Tea House, The Kirk of Highland, Boulder Flower Farm, Stone Mountain Lodge, Public House Lofts, Red Rocks Trading Post, The golden Hotel, Rolling R Ranch, and countless more. We have a lot of experience at Colorado's top wedding venues and are adaptable to any layout and acoustics.
Our DJs arrive at least two hours prior to each event to setup our professional DJ gear. All setup time is included in the pricing of packages and confirmed with venue timeline coordinators. It is a big day for our couples so we always show up with ample time for setup to sound check, confirm our wireless mics are ready to go, and set up lighting and speakers. We also have a very efficient breakdown and usually can have all of our gear out 30 minutes after the event ends.
All we require is a single outlet at each location where music is expected and a point of contact for communication. We have a battery pack that can be used to power a ceremony or cocktail hour without access to power and a generator if reception is off-grid. We will sometimes coordinate with the venue for outdoor coverage as well if rain is expected (most venues have this sort of stuff on hand and are happy to help). Vendor meals are always greatly appreciated but not required.
Yes! With our small team of DJs we cover dates the entire year, including weekdays. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday weddings are most common so we recommend securing a DJ earlier for those days. We have very flexible scheduling and usually have no problem making adjustments to dates and locations.
Yes! With our small roster of DJs we've created a company that can cover multiple weddings per day while still having backup DJs. We enjoy keeping our roster small to continue giving couples an intimate and personalized day of music.
We have very flexible scheduling and do not charge any extra cost if a date or venue needs to be rescheduled. We will attempt to keep your same DJ if possible, but have other DJs if necessary. We also collect a 20% down payment to hold a date for our clients. Per our wedding DJ contract terms this is a non-refundable payment as cancellation after commitment causes us to lose out on other potential weddings.
Yes! Cocktail hour services are included in our base package. We also have live acoustic musicians available for cocktail hour for an additional cost! We use multiple speaker set ups to ensure a seamless transition between different spaces.
Yes! Although less common for DJs, we are still available to show up for rehearsal dinners if needed. We will also perform at any day after brunch's, welcome parties, late night after parties, or any other events associated with the wedding. If interested, ask about our multi day wedding packages!
Rocky Mountain Weddings will coordinate prior to the wedding with the wedding coordinator to review timeline needs and special musical moments, like grand entrance and the procession. When we show up the day of the event, we will also touch base with the catering company and create a point of contact to make sure all food and dinner is on schedule BEFORE announcing it to the room. We then will coordinate with the photographer for first dances and speeches, asking the photographer where they think we should have people stand for the best photos. We also are ready to be used to amplify the messages of any wedding vendors if they need help getting a message out to the room.
Having a DJ, any DJ, is always going to out-beat a playlist or an AI DJ. The art of DJing is all about reading the room; understanding who is in the room, what music they're getting excited about, and thinking about what music will excite them next based off that information. All of our DJs past experience allows us to get the dance floor rocking by understanding what the party needs next and delivering.
Yes, we service the entire state of Colorado including Colorado Springs, Boulder, Fort Collins, etc.
Rocky Mountain Wedding uses only high-end, high Fidelity audio equipment. We've been complimented in the past for using wireless microphones that truly keep people's voice is crisp and easy to understand. We also use top of the line PA systems from RCF, JBL, and Electro Voice.
